Good Intentions, Unexpected Outcomes: How Embracing Change Leads to Growth<\/h3><\/div><\/div><\/div>In April 2015, Nepal was struck by a massive earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter scale, which claimed nearly 9,000 lives and injured more than 22,000 individuals. This disaster not only revealed the fragility of human life but also the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity. Hearing about the struggles the Nepalese people were still facing after a year, I traveled to Nepal early 2016 to volunteer as an earthquake relief helper.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
This time in Nepal was a profound lesson in the importance of connection, giving back, and understanding the struggles and inequalities on a global scale. Contributing to rebuilding efforts and working in the construction of schools and homes, I noticed the pervasive issue of pollution, even in the most remote mountain areas. A problem that seemed insurmountable (and ,to be honest, a questionable priority) against the backdrop of the earthquake’s aftermath.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
